Originally constructed in 1913, the north half of the building was built for the Inland Casket Manufacturing Company. The "Atlantic Building" now serves as the headquarters of Clark Pacific Real Estate Company, Inc. The south half of the building was designed by the architect of the Davenport Hotel and completed in 1927. Later, the building was used as storage space for restaurant equipment and was so filled and neglected that it was condemned. It was in this decrepit state that Clark Pacific purchased the building, began its restoration, and added it to the Spokane Register of Historical Buildings. Today, the Atlantic Building stands as a beacon to all neglected historical buildings: these buildings are our past, and they should not be destroyed, but should be made great once again.
